Handbook

Code Of Conduct

1.                  I will work daily toward being cooperative with other students, teachers, additional staff members and bus drivers.

2.                  I will not take, destroy or damage school property, other students’ or teachers’ property.

3.                  I will be polite and courteous to other students, teachers and staff.

4.                  I will not hit, strike, shove, push or kick others. If I am verbally abused (called names), I will not lose my temper and try to hurt that person.   Self-defense not only means to protect myself when physically assaulted, but striving to avoid such conflicts by finding an adult.

5.                  I will be responsible with my books, assignments, clothing and other belongings.  I will work to organize and keep neat all assignments and belongings.

6.                  I will move quietly and in an orderly manner to all classes, lunch and to and from the buses.  I will only talk while in the hallways when the teacher gives me permission.

7.                  I will help the teacher and keep my hands to myself.  I will be patient and not make fun of others, nor will I say things that will hurt other students’ feelings.

8.                  I will be alert and practice safety at all times.

Unacceptable Behavior

1.                  Weapons, firearms, toy guns, knives, and drugs are strictly prohibited.

2.                  Threatening other students or staff / disrespectful attitude to staff.

3.                  Cursing, loud noises, rude gestures.

4.                  Hitting, shoving, kicking, striking, or throwing objects.

5.                  Chewing gum.

6.                  Running (acceptable only in PE class).

7.                  Stealing, destroying property.

8.                  Telling an untruth.

9.                  Chronic disruption.

10.              Other behaviors disruptive to the educational process.
