School Improvement Goals

Students, teachers, administrators, and parents of Clyde Riggs Elementary cooperatively developed the School Goals listed below. These represent the educational missions toward which all instruction and activities of the curriculum are directed.

1. Clyde Riggs Elementary will work to make gains in the area of math throughout the entire student body while continuing to meet AYP goals.  Our focus will encompass each subgroup represented within our school.

2. Clyde Riggs Elementary will create opportunity for students to participate in higher order thinking activities and needed challenges for the upper quartile of the student population.

3. Clyde Riggs Elementary will concentrate on improving our collaborative process by creating a more dynamic environment between parents, students, and teachers.  Our school will offer numerous opportunities for parents to become more involved in school activities.  This will lead to a more unified school climate as well as an improvement in students’ academic performances.

Numerous strategies are implemented in the classroom to guide students in improvement in the above areas.

Improvement is monitored through pre/post tests, classroom assessments, Tennessee State Assessments (Terra Nova – TCAP), and report cards.
