Handbook Welcome to Clyde Riggs Elementary SchoolAs we enter another school year as a community of learners, the staff of Clyde Riggs Elementary School looks forward to welcoming your child to our school. As part of the Sumner County School System we hold high expectations for success and achievement for all of our students. Those of you who are returning to Clyde Riggs Elementary know that we take pride in providing a quality educational program for our students. Our school is strengthened by the active participation of parents and we encourage every parent to become involved. We are eager for new families to become a part of our school. We are proud of the past achievements of our students. We will use this past as the foundation for an even better future. With the cooperation of parents, students and teachers, we anticipate another successful year in a growing tradition of excellence. The information in this handbook should answer many of your questions about school policies and procedures. The staff will be happy to discuss other questions or concerns. Please feel free to contact the school. Please go over this handbook with your child carefully. You will find a school calendar, dress code, our school’s Code of Conduct and other important information concerning your child and this school. We ask that the Zero Tolerance Weapons and Dangerous Instruments page be read carefully to your child for their understanding. A packet of important policies will be given separately and you will be ask to sign a sheet stating you and your child have read these policies. We will work hard to ensure that your child receives the best in education. We hope you will visit us and be an active member of your child’s education and our school community all year long.
