Head Lice
A student being found to have head lice shall be excluded from school until
treated with lice shampoo and all nits have been removed. To be
readmitted to school, the student must bring proof of treatment and be
brought in by parent or guardian and checked by designated person. Board
policy also allows the school to require a written statement from a doctor
or county health department showing the child to be nit free. A student
will not be allowed admission to school or the bus until he/she has been
examined and found to be completely nit-free. Appropriate notification from
the school will be provided to classroom parents.
