Handbook Section 504
Our district not only attempts to make sure qualified students are serviced through our Sumner County Board of Education Special Services but the staff also works to outline services for students that qualify under Section 504. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act sets the guidelines to ensure that discrimination due to any mental or physical impairment does not occur within any federally funded program. Parents of students need to understand the school district has certain guidelines and procedures that must be followed under any special program. At the same time, the staff members within the district work to make sure parental and student rights are outlined and safeguarded.
